Though no Caesar he, no combatant rank earned by mighty battle, and so General Bone Spurs, a question of power arises: From where and what power...

The mad monkey who would be king
knows not.
A small minded supercilious sarcastic
piece of political inconvenience,
won't feed the starving, homeless
invoking unconstitutional decrees
but wants a parade
oh by-the-way,
the cost is on you and me.
Caligula reincarnate our fate?

Lessons From History by David Barber

Nice, reminds me of Szymborska. You call it a Flash story. I feel it borders on both that and poetry. I have to go back again. That's a good sign, for me at least. Thanks,

I believe this would make a good theme for a flash contest. This question has been presented by the Buddha over 2K years ago among others.
One answer: waking talking star dust.

REALLY? As long as I've been alive and as the USA is concerned, its always been at war (internally and otherwise). My mother-in-law states the same about Old Japan, always at war with all the young men swept up to the front lines to die. The human ape, its mouth agape, nods its collective heads at t...

FAFIK and UNCANNY MIRACLE
Excellent both. Uncanny Miracle is a question I always wondered about, specifically if granted a wish and that would be to be able to cure any one I touched would that person welcome it or resent it. I considered different situations, as well as the one in Greasers Palace. This was short and to the ...
