Re: Hunting Season by Boomer
Thanks for the input and observations Dan, they are very helpful. I will take another look at the story for typos. I've lost count of the number of times I've edited this, even with large font size (400%), but I still can't see them all. I'll just have to try and find an editor I guess, as I seem to...

Re: A Thousand Times
Jaimie:

Have a bit of a grumble myself. I started with 3,564 spelling errors, and between hundreds of spell checks, re-write and my editor using her big red pen to slash and burn her way through my master piece, I thought we’d found 99.9 % of them. Could you give me some idea of the number of...

Re: A Thousand Times
Wow! Thanks Nate. That was everything… well almost everything I needed. A couple of things I need to add, one being the 17,000 word restriction for submittal, which tended to limit the amount of description I would have liked to have put in. No excuse I know… I can almost hear the ‘write better and ...

Re: Readability and Grade Levels
Being the world's worse speller (have trophy to prove it) the invention of the word process, spell and grammar checker seemed like the second coming to me. That was until I discovered the pit falls therein. At best, the spell checker will catch maybe 60 to 70%, and the grammar checker about the same...

Albert Einstein, or Alfred E. Neuman? Durrrr.....

Well I guess I meant Albert E, but if I can go faster than the speed of light I'l take Alfred E. ;D (wonder why the name looked funny when I posted it).

Either way, I hate speed limits so any way we can get round it the better I like it.

Re: Six Lights off Green Scar - by Gareth Lin Powe
I love the idea of wormholes, FTL, jump gates, and such because of the way, as Gareth said, of jumping our hero’s about the cosmos. In olden times, before the world became so small it was possible for writers to send their hero’s and heroines to exotic places like the darkest Africa, the Amazon, Mar...

Bill. I second that motion and take and order of fries on the side :)

I'd much rather see remarks and comments on the writing style, plot, characters, plot holes and the like than on the 'hard or 'soft' science involved, unless as you say it violates know principles without reason (as in your...

A Thousand Times
Apart from the few ss errors and missing words this story reads well from start to finish. The formatting could have been better, but it is well paced with a good central charactor

Boomer

Grumble of the Month: We interrupt your reading with the following message.

I read with some interest the comments and reviews in this months (April) issue of the story ‘Six Lights Off Green Scar’, and the argument about ‘hard science’. Several of the commentators spoke rather despairingly ab...

Re: Bandit by Robert D. Buckingham
First, I’d like to thank all who posted reviews on my story, as the comments are much appreciated.

I’d like to say at the outset, that I must plead guilty to the many spelling/grammar errors, my only defense being the forest and trees myopia. No matter how many times I edit my own work I fail...
