Very provocative, indeed. We have a long tradition of teleportation-gone-wrong stories; this is a good one to continue the line with.
This is a good story, but I have a personal problem with the concept of near-instantaneous teleportation (or what might be called a 'delete and copy' operation in this case). I can't get past the difficulty in all this. The 'delete' part of it isn't too hard for me, but -- how would one go about selecting the exact individual atoms needed to make the copy, and bonding them together at all, much less with the necessary precision? Especially since a good number of the parts are in motion just by virtue of being parts of a living organism . . . too much for me.
Maybe Mr. Wolfe will chime in on this . . .
