Yeah, just too sweet and innocent. He should have given her the lecture about the torch-and-pitchfork parties they'd be invited to. Too many heavy-pawed hints about the surprise, too.
This author is writing in the wrong genre; he should just put his effort into romance, since it's obvious to me that that's what he really wants to write. This story wasn't scary, it wasn't -- much of anything, but it was trying damned hard to be romantic. Hell, these sweet, loveable werewolves didn't even want to eat people. Where's the fun in that?
Shed the wolf's clothing, Joseph; it doesn't fit. Give yourself a feminine nom de plume and turn yourself into a slush machine. And drop us a card when you're a filthy-rich million-seller.
