Whoa!! Dynamite stuff!
Very powerful, with the preservation-of-family angle, plus the part about the other man wanting the narrator to just give up the kid. Incredible tension, and I really admire the way it was paced and built up.
Not a wasted word anywhere. This could be another "best of" for the year.
