I had to laugh at the ending. And the narrator is just so pleased with himself at having solved all the difficulties with his wardrobe.

Not sure if a mixture of blood and anything would be good for leather, though; I'd expect it to attract scavengers. Then again, you could always leave them something else to dine on.
