Nice beginning with the introduction of mental snakes. That’s gets one’s attention.
A story based on the old ‘nuclear war theme’ that once was so popular—how the survivors of a world-shattering event lived afterward.
The main character, Leita, became real to me as I read the story, but the others didn’t.
Good use of sensory inputs throughout this story, and descriptions of this world helped me visualize it.
