Instead of posting your how-to-do-audio-works primer in the Forum, you could submit it as a Feature. That way it would have a better chance of being seen (and heard) than if you depend on someone stumbling across the Forum topic.
I presume that you might have access to professional facilities due to your work in radio, but I hope you can provide suggestions on recording on a budget, too...

Why not submit it as a Feature article?
You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.

bandwidth
I'd like to see your thoughts on bandwidth.
Off and on for the last several years, there have been discussions about adding audio content to Aphelion, but no one knew how to get around bandwidth limitations. That's why last December when I wanted to put an audio version of the example story for the flash challenge, I had to put it on YouTube and just post a link here. I thought about adding sound effects and music, but again was concerned with compression vs. quality and file size.
If there was some way to do audio stories and have it not break Dan's hosting bank allotment, I'd submit a lot. Plus, it could be a really groovy way to both present existing fiction in a new genre and also increase Aphelion's audience.
And... flash stories, as I'm sure you know, are a good length for audio.
