The X47B drone will be capable of taking off from and landing on an aircraft carrier, and will operate without human control (although I presume that it can be overridden). I would guess that it will have onboard A.I. that can identify specific vehicle types and weapon silhouettes and attack them with air-to-ground weapons or target them for other weapons...

Note that the article states that the Navy has no plans to install armament on it. I'm sure that won't stop the CIA from doing so.

It's the latest stage of the arms race. I suppose one thing that will be needed now will be "good guy" transponders, to be worn by anyone who isn't to become a target of this thing. Then, someone will figure out how to hack or jam the signals . . . oops . . .
