National Geographic 'MapMachine' - good reference

Post by Robert_Moriyama »

"MapMachine

Those 'lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer' are fast on the way out; there are those of us who still want to squeeze in those last minute vacations before structure returns to our lives.  National Geographic has redesigned their map site making it easy to find just about any place on our planet Earth.  You can search via a physical map, get ideas from the 'Featured Places' and find put pertinent information including population, climate and other facts about your pinpointed destination.  Even if you can't make the physical journey, the links and related articles will give you your own cyber journey and you won't even have to dig deep in your pocket for airfare or gasoline money.  Here's your chance to see the world, your way!"

Where was this site when I was looking for detailed info on Indonesia? Oops -- as it happens, Jakarta isn't covered anyway.

You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.
