... What almost none of you but Rob Wynne and Jeff Williams know about me is that I've always been a virtual shut-in. Friends have to *drag* me out of the house to go to somewhere. I also suffer from a fear of crowds- ...
I guess it's lucky that the Mare is so large -- even with a goodly number of patrons in any of the rooms, it wouldn't FEEL crowded. :)

Robert M.

You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.

In case it's any extra incentive, my fiance and I will also be at Libertcon on Saturday and Sunday, barring unforseen complications.

Its 250 miles to Cleveland, Tennessee, its dark, and I'm wearing sunglasses...

I think I met and got Jerry Pournelle's autograph waaay back at Torcon 2 (the Worldcon in 1972(?)), when I was but a high schooler. Back then he was known mainly for collaborations with Niven and (I think) with another author whose name slips my mind (the latter books were in the military sf subgenre) ... There were a lot of the greats at that con, many of them now departed (sniff). I still have a paperback Stand on Zanzibar autographed by John Brunner.

Ah, nostalgia.

(That's a disease of middle age and beyond, with onset often aggravated by neuralgia, as in "Boy, I can remember when I had to have a night before to feel like this the morning after.")

Robert M.
