Spammer Accounts removed

Post by doc »

Well, that took an annoying length of time, but I've now pruned all the bad accounts from the forum registry.

My method was crude: Anyone who had never made a post got zapped. This means, of course, that legitimate accounts who never posted were also clensed. If you find your account is missing, please contact me.

... Of course, by definition, all the real spammers DID make at least one post (even if it was subsequently removed). When you delete a post or topic, does it automatically update the poster's statistics?

(Not that it will matter in a couple of weeks.)

You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.

It does update the count. But no, not all of the spammers DID make a post. They just registered and when they discovered that didn't allow them to post, moved on.

There were over 22,000 accounts when I started. There's about 230 now.
