I have my settings mostly as default, so I should get a notification and popup when I have a new message, but it didn't happen.

I'm using the "subsilver" skin, and am running Firefox 3.5.7 from an iMac.

I don't have notification problems with other forums I visit.

Any suggestions?

I have found that the "You have a private message" notifications show up as pop-up windows that may be suppressed by the blocking features in Firefox, Chrome, etc. These settings allow you to accept pop-ups from a particular site on a one-time-only basis or on all visits to the site...
