Rob Wynne has asked me to take a shot at updating the archives (so the list of story/poem links for each author will be (we hope) complete, and the list of AUTHORS will be complete, too). This will take a while, so please be patient!

I will post a message here when I THINK I'm done -- then I would like all past authors to check and see (a) if they're listed, and (b) if all their work is there.

I presume that more recent stuff will also continue to be available via the Back Issues (although finding a particular author or story can be tough if you don't know when he/she/it (it = story; Aphelion authors are generally human, or humanoid, or humanoid-ish) appeared) ...

Robert M.

Speak for yourself, Earthling.

I said generally. And 'humanoid-ish' covers a lot of ground ...

Robert M.

(Sigh) And someday I will have to ACTUALLY START DOING THE UPDATES. Some of you know that it's been a busy couple of months, but I WILL start updating soon. Honest. (Say, can I interest you in a nice bridge? If you collect tolls on it, it'll pay for itself in no time. I mean, think how many cars move between New York City and Brooklyn every day ...)

Robert M.

Organization? They're supposed to be ORGANIZED? Back to the old graphics tablet ...

As far as I know, the Archives are primarily designed to allow access to all the stories/longer works/poetry by a particular AUTHOR that have appeared in Aphelion. Beyond that, SOME authors' entries have references to the issue number in which stories appeared, while others do not ...

We do NOT appear to have the 'Index2.htm' for each issue saved (at least not under that name -- they probably exist as something like 'apvxxyymm.htm' (vxx = volume number?; yy=year; mm=month) on one of the servers), so accessing a given issue by year and month or issue number may not be possible at the moment.

My plan (insofar as I have/had one) is to build folder corresponding to each issue I add to the archives, and update the author links pages to point to the files within those folders. Once you know that the story 'I Am Joe's Mysterious Organ of Psionic Mass Destruction' appears in the folder 'www2.aphelion-webzine.com/shorts/2004/06/', you can actually just input THAT part of the URL (omitting the filename for the story), and see links for ALL the short story filenames for that issue. (Substitute 'serials' or 'poetry' for 'shorts' to see long-form stories or poems listed.)

It'll be great, if I ever get around to actually DOING it.

Robert M.
'

The Back Issues page has the filenames for the 90% of index2.htm pages we've got online. The structure is thusly:

ap Issue # v Volume # Like this month's: ap100v9.htm

Dan
Except I notice it's ap100v10.htm, not v9. ;)

Nate
