Damn . . . I've been working so hard at finding plot holes in my own writing that they just jump right out at me . . .

If the guy noticed his brakes were out, he should -- and could, have just geared down to first and shut off the engine and coasted to a safe stop -- or just shut the engine off without gearing down.

Also, wearing a helmet probably would not save anyone driving into a building at high speed on a motorcycle.

Also, depending on the helmet, trying to get it off the driver while in motion could easily be enough to cause a wreck.

Sorry, fruc, it's pretty lame. The sentiment was nice, though.
