Are shorts@aphelion-webzine.com e-mails saved?
It's beginning to look at least possible that I will not be able to recover some of the Aphelion short story submissions received between mid-to-late-October and January 9th. Dan, Rob -- are e-mails sent to shorts@aphelion-webzine.com retained anywhere, or are they deleted after they have been relayed to me?

Robert "My hardware hates me" M.
You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.

The best thing you can do to preserve data is to install some sort of backup system. The best (though hardly cheapest) method these days is a USB hard drive large enough to mirror your entire drive, and a copy of Norton Ghost.

I suggested to RM that he might want to set up a gmail account to receive stories at, and that way Google will happily keep an archive of stuff sent to him, in addition to what he has downloaded. This doesn't in any way override the necessity of local backups of course.
