Actually, Larissa and I may not be available that weekend. I believe that may be the weekend my girlfirend in Detroit is getting married, and I'm expected to be there.

Exsqueeze me? Your girlfriend in Detroit is getting married? And you're supposed to be there? Not as the groom, presumably ... Does Larissa know you have a girlfriend in Detroit? ;D

Of course she does. If she didn't know, that would be unethical. She also knows about my girlfriend in Seattle. :)

Dan: April is currently fairly wide open on my end, and as far as I know the other weekends in May are as well. I may also be misremembering the exact date of the wedding, so don't pin anything down until I double check.

Ok, I just confirmed that the wedding is May 19th, so any other weekend is pretty good for me. Carry on. :)

All right, so far the May 12th weekend is looking good for ApheliCon 3. Then too, Lyn and I are planning to drive out to New Mexico in order to visit her kids. We can use the May 19th weekend for that trip instead of for the party
Does that mean Michelle won't be at Aphelicon? She was so much fun ot have around last time!
As for planning ahead, I'm presently filling out the regestration form for us to attend LibertyCon 20 on the weekend of July 27th-29th. That's in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Hrm. that might be doable for us too. We don't have anything currently going on around that time.
I'm also wondering what sort of shindig I can get away with throwing for myself in the first weekend of November in order to celebrate my 50th birthday. :o Hah! Probably only the same 5 or 6 people who'd come to ApheliCon would show up anyway. ::)
Which means it'd be a hell of a good time. Go for it!

PS

Rob,

May 19th is a good day for a wedding. Buona Fortuna
I'll pass it on. (I'm not the one getting married, after all. I'm already married, and I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to do it again. *grin*)

Sure you can.

It's called "Renewing the Vows". Women love that.
But not so much when it's with a DIFFERENT woman. ;D

Nate? C'mon man, you can do this! I'll beat your *ss in a game of chess and lose a mighty arm-wrestling contest to you if you show up! (I'm a wimp, it'll be easy)

Bill Wolfe
I just don't think so, sorry. And it's too bad. I'm pretty good at arm wrestling, although checkers is more my speed than chess.

According to Yahoo Maps, it's 980 miles to Athens, GA. One Way. Travel time 16 hours (yeah, right). That's a hell of a trip, especially solo (the wife's not interested in going, no buddies want to copilot). 10 tanks of gas, round trip, plus enough tune-ups that I'd feel safe driving that far doesn't make that cheap. Especially if you throw in hotels and eating occasionally.

Flying, not even William Shatner's Negotiation skills (I love those commercials) make it less than $500 by the time you include car rental and hotel. Priceline, Travelocity... I looked at a lot of them.

We're saving for a whole family trip to DC in the fall, so I just can't swing that kind of expense.

Can we do some kind of virtual/video conference option instead? I'm perfectly willing to sit and talk to whomever wants for however long they want that day/night, and I can swing a webcam & software for a lot less, on this end.

Nate

Dan's pictures are now available in the Gallery. I don't know if Bill took many (I never did turn my camera on), but if he sends them to me, I'll post them as well.

Huh. If that's an SD300, it's mine, and it goes with the battery pack you sent Jaimie off with to give back to me.

Forget my own head next.
