Live Chat

As you've explored the new Zine layout, you may have noticed the button marked "Live Chat". This is an embedded IRC program that connects directly (and only) to the Aphelion chat room, hosted by filknet.org.

If you'd tried using the Java client in the past, give this one a try. It's much cleaner and easier to use than the java client, and I hope it will lead to more people hanging out in channel.

If you log on and no one appears to be talking, say hi, and hang out a while. I'm usually somewhere around during the day (east coast time), but since I'm at work I may not respond immediately. And of course, if you hang out a while, the odds are good someone else might wander in, and then you'll have someone to talk to. :)

If you'd prefer to use a traditional IRC client to connect, the server is irc.aphelion-webzine.com and the channel is #aphelionwebzine.
