New Issue Late

Entirely *my* fault, and not the fault of any other of the editors. I'll have it up tomorrow.

I think I always sound like the bad guy when I ask these kinds of things, but...

Would it help if Aphelion didn't try to come out on a specific day? What if instead of saying out on the 1st, or out on the 1st Sunday, it was a "any time between the 1st and the 1st Sunday"? That way, you could have up to a week (at most).

If it's on the Sunday, fine. As a reader, then I know when to look. If it's before, cool. Surprise.

Maybe this way, at least you wouldn't be pressured to come out on only one day. You'd have more leeway to find the time required.

I'm sure you had real-world difficulties, and I have no idea how much work it takes to do the flip. Maybe a lot. I understand committments and I do not mean to push.

Just an idea.

Nate

We tried that before, and it led to issues being so irregular as to be entirely missing some months. There's a strong concern among members of the editorial mafia (with which I agree) that the lack of regularity made it difficult for readers to keep returning, and that was not in keeping with the desire to increase both readership and forum participation. A deadline is a good and important thing, and we've managed to hit it pretty much every month this year.

This issue should have been on time too. The fact that it isn't is my fault, and I take the responsibility. Mea maxima culpa.
