I presume that bourbon and branch water doesn't count as medication...
If it makes you feel any better, a friend of mine had a Nissan Altima so new that he probably hadn't put gas in it more than once. Entered an intersection when the light turned green, and got hammered by a truck driven by someone who considers red lights to be guidelines (like the Pirate Code). He wasn't hurt, but the car will probably be written off. (This happened only days before they were due to depart on a two-week trip to Egypt (this past Tuesday). They had to leave before hearing what the insurance adjuster had decided.)
I hope your medical leave coverage is enough for more than just the mortgage and basic necessities... You'll need to keep yourself entertained while unable to do more than one-handed puttering around the house.
