I'm sorry but you're from Texas and being female you'll need your husband's or brother's permission to vote.

And let's not forget the mandatory concealed handgun, a.k.a. a Texas conflict resolution device.
You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.

George, congratulations on your new-found fame and fortune!

John, nice touch with the trophy!

Here are my comments, with the numbers:

ALPHA & OMEGA The Creator Twins
Mixed up XX and YY there once . . . not hard to do, though.
Not much of a plot, but it was unusual.
Score: 43

The Mainstay of the Brotherhood...
I don't see any conflict/resolution between the main characters (or their enemies) here. And brothers in clusters of 12, who go to war at age one and probably don't live more than a month beyond that -- why give 'em names?
Score: 31

Zone Defense
Marvelous! There's a universe of truth between these lines.
Score: 60

Battle for Europa, Day Four
A very narrowly-focused view of war; lots of detail. But, if one gets shot and the other feels it, what happens when one dies?
Score: 57

A Prayer To the Child God
The POV shifts in this one, at the third paragraph of the last scene. That's a no-no.
Score: 33

The Good Image
I couldn't figure out who was who in this one, and as near as I could figure out, they were both equally nasty.
Score: 38

The Hunger of the Dead
Fascinating plot!
Score: 44

Congrats, George. I fully endorse the virtual ice gnome trophy. Finally, something to class this place up. ;)

(It's also nice to know that even though I can't see who wrote what anymore, I could still correctly guess 5 of the 7 right.)

I can't believe that I've won! In this challenge, I believed that I would come in last! Really, I did. So many good stories this time, and my pick was 'A prayer To the Child God' and my second was 'Zone Defense' These two were very close in my opinion, and I was sure one of them would be the winner.

But the others were also very good, and I did struggle when grading them. Each had strong points.
Thanks to all. Winning this has made my day!!!
