Mine was nice enough; just me and the cat. The closest I got to real turkey was the lunchmeat in my sandwich -- I shared with the kitty, but she refused the last morsel, the little ingrate.

The important part: I spent most of the day doing what I like, working on writing.

If Valerie had known that, she would have sent you a full course dinner - and taken pleasure from it.
I appreciate that, but I really don't feel lacking. I keep myself happy, and I've learned to do it cheaply. The trick is spending high on a few things that make a real difference. That sandwich was made on a nine-grain artisan bread that reminds you of the days when bread was "the staff of life." Bleached white bread is nothing but a handle for the fillings -- it's like drawing a picture of real bread and then eating the drawing.

Again, though, thanks. :D

Oh, and I forgot to mention -- yesterday, when I was out doing a little shopping (for some of that wonderful bread, among other things) I scored a MINCE-MEAT PIE!!

I'd begun to think no one even made them anymore; last year, I couldn't find one at all.

Excellent stuff. :D

I think we're in it now! Wish I could get it year-round, though!
