Good day, folks!

I thought an appropriate challenge for this month might be "the day after". You know the trope: civilisation has fallen, the wind whistles through the ruins, Sergio Morricone music plays forlornly on the soundtrack, and then, we hear a small sound: rubble shifting. Something is moving... there IS LIFE!

A challenge, then: can you tell us, in a thousand words or less,

• what happened?
  who or what has survived?
  Is there hope for the future, or is this some grim jest of fate?
  will uber eats still deliver?

Answers to these and other questions may be sent to me by PM before midnight on 14 October.

Remember:

• No fanfic
  Nothing that will make lawyers sit up and take notice!
  I need to care about your characters, their situation, and their dilemmas

As usual, I've already written my entry, and I'm waiting for the usual reviews/revisions before sending it in, because the story needs to be partly cut in a way....

I'm finishing mine up. A little editing here and there yet! LOL

Sergio is always quick with his stories. It takes me a while to come up with something...but I try my best not to lag too much.

I can't get mine sent in. I'm not sure what happened, but I try a little later!

I'm having a hard time sending a PM... keeps saying I'm in the wrong universe...

Hmm... still not able to PM. Funny, I was going to say it's not the end of the world, but this time — it is.

Well, it's the day after yesterday and I still can't get in! Some evil Hacker from the day after must have been waiting until our time caught up with him! And he has a smile carved into his face! Well, what do you expect from the year 2020? I'll be glad when it's yesteryear!

Something's wrong with the board system; even the spammers can't get in. Our webmaven knows about it; I'll mention it again.

Our Web Maven seems to have fixed the problem.
