The writing in this story is far above average. Description, explanation, and showing are all woven together with great care, and it is easy to see what is taking place in one’s imagination. I like that.
An Oracle computer? Yes, I’m sure that in the future computer science will expand into areas that were once the domain of mystics. But ORCRAT used the same techniques that fortune-tellers do: Study the person, then give back to the person what he/she already knows! The I-O-C-I-S web-net gives ORCRAT instantaneous information about its clients, and coupled with its ability to learn, ORCRAT has all the tools it needs to fulfill an Oracle's trade. Nice inference to computer science---data structures, algorithms and data bases!
I didn’t see the twist at the end, but like it. As computers become more human-like, jealousy, envy, and hatred would develop.
I liked the story, but the ending was a let down, somewhat. More action at the ending is needed. It was too explained.
