Were we the Big Ones That Got Away?
I found this story confusing at first, thinking it dealt with 'fishing' in the sense that we know it, but I kept seeing 'galaxy' where I expected to see 'ocean.' The confusion cleared up in time, though -- that is, in time to ponder the multiple implications.
This theme has been handled before, but not quite in the way done here. 'Humanity as someone else's lunch' -- been there, blah blah . . . it's the 'managed resource' angle that sets this one apart.
