Aphelion

This is rather interesting and quite different from what I expect in such a tale . . . you never see the final battle, nor get to know if the new arrivals are even Good Guys or not -- it's all about the main character's dilemma in trying to motivate the increasingly demotivated troops under him.

It almost seems unfinished, or like it should be part of a larger work.

Quite well done, though.
