Thoughts on Writing #32: Deadlines by Seanan McGuire

Oh, gods . . . here's my nemesis.
Certainly one of the clearest and most focused essays Seanan has done (and yes, I've read all of them).
Thanks a lot, Seanan -- now I have no excuses left.
My version of a deadline, lately, has been, "I just hope I can get this novel done before I die."
My problem is, if I don't have some inspiration or excitement going about what I'm writing, I tend to write -- uninspired and unexciting stuff. And then I delete it. Still, there have been a few times when I worked pretty hard to get one of the monthly challenges in on time . . .
I need to think about this.
