Re: Shadow Games
I'm glad you enjoyed the story :) The mix of spellings was purely unintentional -- I'll have to go through my version and make them consistent.

Thanks!

Sharon Partington

Re: Shadow Games
This was a very nicely executed venture into Anne Rice territory, with a Forever Knight twist as D'Lyr recalls what he himself lost so long ago and cannot bring himself to take it from young Ellyn. The theme of the regretful immortal is always an interesting one (Nick Knight and the Macleod (Highlander) cousins being the obvious TV examples); in this case, Ms. Partington focuses on a rare moment in D'Lyr's potentially endless life, when he experiences an emotion other than bloodlust, amusement, or ennui. Will we see more of this world and these characters?

(Cary is no doubt cringing at the thought of another 'series' that isn't exactly a serial, like the Al Majius thing. But with centuries of incidents to choose from, a D'Lyr and Analaise series wouldn't need a unifying plot ...)

Robert M.
You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.
