"Yay! You wrote something I like! Whee!"

Thanks parasite. Amazing how sex dominates the minds of so many creatures. And humans? Wow, freaky freaks.

"Can you write something for me about dolphins? Specifically about how seductively sexy they look...All glistening while their smooth, fishy skin feels so good as I rub my..."

That's enough. Go take a cold shower parasite.

"Okay, but I'm gonna play with my rubber dolph..."

Too much information. TMI. Yikes.

Nice Day

Wind blew the sawdust as a desert disappears with sand
His white hat flew to take a random flight
His wife smiled, holding his drink
standing in mud.

Diesel fumes as the belts tightened
Mill spewing sound and bark
Blade biting logs into submission.

Time flew by in a cloud
Dancing lights of bright and shadow
And now,
remembering a good day.

Daylight Savings.

Tonight and tomorrow at this exact time of day
Will a body be any different
as the 60 minutes lost with the movement of hands on a clock?

So
it seems.

Fall back
Spring forward
for what does this time change mean?

Another six months to get the body conditioned
Used too to circadian rhythm
and transtigarian dreams

As back-and-forth, forth-and back
while time laughs at the body of Time
a clock where the people
cling.

Great one Tao! And the story read three times is three times different... Good indeed to master the wordery wonders within.

"Fuck you Robin and fuck you Tao."

Hey parasite, not cool. You can pick on me but tread carefully or you might get burned...

"Why? The firebird said I could call it crazy or senile and YOU know I don't follow the rules so I'm gonna call charcoal beak a, a, a,... say tippy tao, do you happen to have any dolphin friends? I, uh, uhmm, oh hell... Know any dolphins I can boinK? Or, heck, I'd settle for a penguin and I hate penguins but..."

Parasite. You're asking for it. You do know the story of the phoenix? You just might get a huge kick in the ass if not careful.

"Sure idiot, the phoenix rises from the ashes...blah, blah, blah... So, what do YOU think I do? You've done just about every horror in the world to me (squash, bomb, burn, shoot, etc) and I"M still here."

Well, you still might be here but you do know that since someone real rose to the challenge you no longer get to write about the sexiness of a pineapple.

"Oh, yeah, well get this. I'm gonna go now. And I'm gonna make sweet whoopee to that pineapple you got sitting on the shelf waiting to see how long it takes to dissolve, and then I'm gonna..."

Yuck. Whatever.

Made that excavator sing today. Planted a tree, dug a ditch, pulled stumps, piled and burned brush, back filled. Weather was stellar. But for all the work, it was most fun watching the Russian children play.

The were curious, timid, bold, outgoing, aloof... A nice family indeed. They belong to a religion that does not allow work on Saturday but Sunday is okay. Funny how religions have such rules. This family also does not eat any animal products, not even chicken eggs.

And thus, the inspiration.

Two Legged Rabbit's

Nibble hop, nibble hop, nibble hop
Stop and look with a twitchy nose
playing with dolls and toy trucks

In the woods cleared they run and play
overhead
the hawks look

Digging holes and nibbling, nibbling and digging holes
Swinging branches like swords
and laughing

In for breakfast, out for fun
In for lunch, out for fun
and then, when the workday is over
and beneath the sky of the settled sun
the whole family gathered to talk and smile
smelling like rabbits; looking healthy and soft
smiling

It was a good day to work for and with
two-legged
rabbits.

Onions

Peel back the layers be they yellow or white
Paper skin first much like the first writing paper
Pulling the dry to reveal the wet

Cutting deep with smiling eyes
Filled with involuntary tears
Oh such an aroma!

Deep fried, caramelized in a pan, boiled in soup, baked, burnt, even dried
Mixed with eggs and cheese or floating among other vegetables in soup
Such a pleasant nice

Onions, along with the potato
Both along the same lines
One solid, one in layers; perfect food for an imperfect world.

"Care? Me? Ha! Okay, looky here charcoal nose; yeah sure, you were reborn... yada, yada, yada. Fire and all. And your feathers smelled like burning chicken feathers... which reminds me, I'm hungry. Robin is a shitty cook, though he has good chips and dip... A question: Can a Phoenix be BBQ'ed? I bet if I put some Yoshiba's bbq sauce on you after singing off all that regrowth of feathers..."

Parasite? You do realize that the Phoenix has other powers? And that compared to your uncanny knack of not only offending people and writing horrible stories... You going up against the Phoenix would be you like a mouse standing in the highway flipping off a semi-truck going 80mph? Not a good ending for you.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Say numbnuts, why don't you waddle over to the kitchen and fix me up something to snack on."

No. You got, ah, um, legs? Or are those arms? You just slither in there yourself.

Sorry about that Tao. At least the parasite is partially toilet trained.

"Hey! (munch, munch, crunch) I heard that.

Good luck Tao, that parasite will probably end up playing strip poker with the citizens there and since it cheats will end up with a new wardrobe and a bag of lost souls.

Hey, it's working! Not a sign or peep from the parasite.

Thinking the closest I've ever gotten free from it was about a week when I was two-years old, so maybe this time it will break the record. For sure that crazy survivor will indeed be back.

Today's inspiration comes from taking care of the neighbors fish. They have both salt water and freshwater. Today I got to open a FedEx box and release a water baggy full of snails. It was way cool to watch them all come 'alive' once bouncing off the bottom. Gerad told me they will devour all the other snails in the tank now. I joked on the telephone and told him one of the snails already ate a fish

Some of them move sporadic and fast

Glass panes to shield two sides
Gurgling gas of air bubbles

Everything different yet the same
Everything in its place
Everything so very much alive.

Once upon a time my (ex)wife expressed an interest in getting a fish tank, so we went to an aquarium store. I wasn't much interested in the fish (I said that if I were to have any aquatic critter around, I'd like an octopus) but I might have been tempted to buy a tank and put nothing but snails in it because some of the ones I saw in there were amazingly beautiful. But as you've pointed out, some of them don't play well with others.

I did ask about the octopus ... too expensive, too hard to keep.

Somewhere around that time I took a snail out of the nearby river--I just took a quart jar down there on my bike, waded out into the calm shallows and scooped up some of the river water (and maybe a little mud, I don't remember) and caught a snail and brought it home. It lived for quite a while in there. Gunk would form on the inside of the jar and the snail would go around licking it off. That's fun to watch, but after a while I got bored with it and put it back in the river.

Thinking about it now, I wonder why I never thought to question where that gunk on the glass came from. The snail had a cool feature, though: an operculum, a door it could pull shut to keep itself safe (a relative term for a snail) inside its shell.

Evening Lester. At least you released your prisoner. Most would have performed the flushing ceremony, tossed it in the garbage disposal, or toss it outside.

Octopus are cool. Tasty too. Used to catch them while fishing/crabbing in Alaska. The only hard part on them is the black beak. And man, are they strong. (slimy too, though mostly because they are soft)

The aquarium I'm taking care of is pretty cool. They have horseshoe crab, shrimp, crabs, starfish, a poisonous fish that changes color, plants that eat meat, and a whole lot of other cool stuff such as living coral and a couple of strange things that look like moving snakes.

The snails I released yesterday all survived and today they were under the gravel. Found out they ambush their prey. Every time a fish with whiskers swam over the gravel bed, the little rocks would pop up. It would be interesting to see a snail catch and eat a fish 100 times bigger than they are.

There is a pet store in Lewiston that sell everything from crickets to fish and lizards. The fish are the best. One poisonous fish, a lion fish, looks cool as heck and costs close to $275.00. Knowing my luck it would sting me on the way home and then die while I go into seizures and die shortly after.

The young man working in the store has a great job and I saw a tank full of colorful fish following him like a dog everytime he walked by, whereas when I walked by they remained motionless and bored.

Thanks for sharing. As for tonight's writing inspiration it deals with a blog written by a family I know. In it was a piece about me and my job of maintaining an association road. They wrote an article about how I sprayed their child and dog in the face with weed killer and smiled while doing so. Along with some other bizarre lies.

Actually called him and he did not have words. I wish him and his family well but laughed when I read how they said in the heading of one of the blogs, a quote by Jimmi Hendrix to the effect of 'love beats power' ,and in typical human fashion, it is they who seek the power of hate and evil. Sad world, but so very inspirational.

Truth and Lies

When words flow from the fingers they translate the words of the mind
When words received by other eyes and minds translate into memories
is it truth?
is it lies?

A child so dearly wants to believe they are innocent even while holding a stolen cookie in their hands
A man says, "I love you," only to have the other not believe
while
another man says, "I hate you," fully knowing it is a lie.

Truth?
Lies?
Such a fine line when spoken, heard, and believed in.

Hitler killed gypsies, homosexuals, and Jews... Justifying his words and actions, with lies
Jesus preached love and Truth and the liars killed him.

Each of us has a choice
To tell the truth
To tell the lie.

Wow, snails as ambush predators. Pretty wild, but not even close to the extremes of biological weirdness; I'm now reading this (I think you'd like it):

https://www.amazon.com/This-Your-Brain- ... +parasites

Insidious little bastards. No mention yet if any of them infest humans and make them want to write, though I won't be a bit surprised if the book reveals a lot about where we get our politicians from.

Checked it out on Amazon and it seems like a good book to read. Did the 'check inside' and read the intro.

If one really thinks about the various biological machines on this planet, it is easy to see how entire populations of various life forms have developed synergy to form the whole. A rolling mechanism of adaption and change.

Caucasian traits such as hair follicles becoming thinner and wider spaced on the skin, specifically on the head for the colder environments and lack of parasites such as follicle mites. This in comparison to the negro aka 'black' hair which has become more dense and thicker to help aid in controlling infestation of the same parasite.

Tape worms. Intestinal parasites. Skin parasites. Useful and harmful at the same time,

All creatures have parasites and even parasites themselves, have parasites. A giant food chain/living environment.

E. coli: Lives calmly in the lower intestinal tract of a human yet can be a natural controller of human population for those who prepare food or contaminate an environment with an excess of fecal matter.

Fascinating topic. One excellent for science fiction stories/movies. The, Alien series is but one example of the horror of parasites-gone-bad.

Interesting to note that parasites needs hosts and in many ways, the host needs parasites. Some humans say humans are parasites on this planet, Earth. That the planet would be better off without humans. What's funny about that is planets need nothing from any life forms. All planets are the ultimate lab for the petri dish test of Life. Earth could care less about humans any more than it cares for sand in a desert.

Thanks for the inspiration Lester.

Parasite

Diamond in the rough
Dirty chunk of ugly hidden in the gut of a volcano

Spewed lava, burped from the bowels of an infernal heat
Buried
layer upon useless layer of dinosaur shit
dead tree's
rocks
soil
and
water.

Darkness surrounded the quiet
Eternity almost of forgotten solitude

One day, another eruption, after years numbering millions
And storms spanning centuries
with the Sun spinning countless circles

A parasite called, human
picked up the ugly stone and washed it
caressed it
cleaned it
faceted it
and then,,,
the reveal.

Now in a place of honor
Shining sparkle worn on the maidens hand
of another
worthless
parasite
while the Sun continued to circle.

Whatever is happening to the parasite, I like it! Haven't heard from it in days. But it is indeed a crafty bugger when it comes to survival. From what I know of it, it survived the previous histories of not only this planet but those of other dimensions. Why it likes to hang around me is strange, but then again, we both do share a love of food...

Anubis might be able to deal and Thoth might be able to intervene but the parasite of the parasite is the dream of things seen and unseen. Besides, when I've played poker with the parasite, it becomes one of the pictures on the card. There was that one time it looked like a flaming sword stuck into a marshmallow. I laughed so hard it then ate all the jelly beans that were being used for poker chips. Bastard. But thanks Tao for sending the troublemaker to where it at least has a challenge.

And thanks for the inspiration.

Flow

Looking outside the window, directions of decisions of far off minds
There, look for a glimmer, the path of a hawks flight
And there, a shadow of a robin's Spring return

Hanging to a wire in the middle, the birds sing
Sun shines
Mud churns

From top the gravity works
for all the effort
the winds glide effortlessly in every direction
bringing all to
Life.

Parasite? Is that... that you? Holy smokes! What happened? You like the south end of a rocket heading north...

"Oh man. Was that a trip... "

Ha! Yeah, I heard you got banished. Actually was starting to think you may not come back, but here you are. As ugly as ever. So, why do you look like you've been massaged with a flame-thrower?

"I've learned not to mess with birds that play with fire. Got sent to that (censored, censored, and censored) place. Those people there are some whacked things indeed." The parasite paused and then proceeded. "They knew all my tricks so I had to use one I never tried before... I actually complimented them and their dimensions. In fact, I brown nosed them and had my nose so far up their asses, they couldn't take it anymore and kicked my ass right out into left field."

Serves ya right. I warned you. Well. Maybe you learned something?

"Yeah. I did. Hate to admit it but while there I actually missed you. Now, where's those fucking chips!"

Sigh.

Today was one of those days a writer would dream for. There was so much inspiration where do I start?

"How about by giving me some munchies you've been hiding?"

No parasite. You already consumed those a few weeks ago. But, when I'm done here I'll let you play with some twine I've been saving.

"Oh... goody."

Anyway, got to work for a man I really like. His place is magical for me and today there were frogs, lots of frogs swimming in the melted snow water. And then there was a the bee that greatly amused me. And it all was very... good.

Excavator work to include clearing for a greenhouse, a pathway, shrub removal, and an excellent visit with a man who is married to a Japanese woman and drives his old taxi he used to operate in Hawaii.

After the work there was the nice visit with guys at the lumber store. We talked about moonshine recipes and stills. It was great.

Arriving home, the neighbor was out looking for deer sheds (horns the deer drop every year). While visiting and enjoying the Spring weather, the neighbor below was target practicing and then switched from single shot to shooting his fully automatic machine gun (It's legal to own one if one has the proper government paperwork)

So, there has to be something to write about after such a day.
*

Manual or Automatic

So many people wake every day to every way, the same
The same time for the alarm to blare
The same breakfast, clothing ritual, sanitary needs, and work

It comes natural, the ways of routine
Where everything is predictable
bordering on mundane

Even the heavens are predictable: Sun rising/setting
Moon moving through phase
Tides coming and going
Life
Death
and yet
there is change

Such simple things as making the mind wonder and query
to wander
to explore that around; above/below; everywhere
in the world of
nature

Today the frogs swam and stared... so much communication
A bee beating the wings against the cold, and winning
Tree's in bud
even fish in the creek swimming

Today was a good day to be on manual control
as tomorrow will come automatically.

Many writers have constant stories in their heads just swirling about, begging to come out. Sometimes the writer write a story, sometimes not (lazi) Sometimes, like at this exact moment, two stories inside vying for instant attention, so a snippet of strange while two stories combine.

She returned to her home. Tired but happy. The run was successful.

The gun batteries returned fire upon the enemy who now answered the same in reply.

She smiled as a hand caressed her soft fur. "Good girl. You needed the run didn't you?" The man said as he showed affection to his female corgi. Tinkerbelle returned the affection with a lick.

And, the world continued to spin.

Nah... I would never do that. Now, as for the parasite doing something like that...

I like your idea for a flash challenge. A few years ago I received an email from the daughter of a man I know. I've known her since the age of five and years later she attended her first year of college. It is here she fell in love.

I used to send them, to include her, funny emails and such and one day I got an email from her to her lover. In her mind she was thinking, "Oh shit! Wrong email address! Mayday. Mayday. Where's the delete?"

In her email it dealt with a dirty bird (and stuff) Not that I'm a clean bird mind you, I do use soap and water on special occasions. You know, such times as leap year, blue moons, hell freezing over.

Yes, that would be a great challenge especially in this age of instant news, instant communication, instant stupidity.

And as always, the inspiration.

I've done most of my sweating lately in propelling myself around on a bicycle. Good that I've learned how to dress for cold-weather exertion, thanks to snow removal. I stick my head out the door for the weather report and gear up accordingly. It's just so good to be using my lungs and muscles again to get out and explore a little.

Try biking naked Lester, it builds character and goose bumps! On a biking related topic, in the Summer the highway along the Salmon river has bikers pedaling their hearts out. Granted, they're not naked but they sure do SWEAT. Not unusual to see people biking in temps over 100. Everytime I see a man or woman pedaling up White Bird grade their faces all have one thing in common...torture. They all look absolutely miserable.

Speaking of miserable. Today two hours drive to work, eleven hours of making an excavator sing, and two hours back. Money sucks! But bills suck more! (at least the Russian rabbit kids were fun to watch as they hid in the holes I dug for trees)

Mm, biking naked is likely to build an arrest record, and anyone intentionally going out for a lot of physical exertion in dangerous heat is flirting with some new medical records. But look what the Japanese did ...

But getting arrested while biking naked would make for excellent television. Remember the chase of OJ Simpson? Just imagine a slow speed chase by lustful cops following a lovely naked lady! Why, I bet it would be on CNN, Fox, NBC, Youtube.

If I biked naked I could get away with it because I've got more body hair than a silverbacked ape.

Now, on the Japanese link, seeing the word Hiroshima brought back Marine Corps memories. Went to Hiroshima and area. Those Japanese were cutting edge on public transportation back in the 80's. And they had really cool vending machines and heavy equipment. They also played pachinko everywhere. Crazy little ball bearings bopping about, enough to drive a person crazy.

And now, inspired by bicycles.

When the weather of Winter still gasps and stutters; trying to displace Spring... It is, amusing.

Building is picking up here now that the snow is fading. The lumber stores are getting busy, the people are waking up. It is, good.

Today, I made a table for Pete. Pete is a displaced viking stuck in a modern time. I do enjoy telling him that he would be a good slave instead of a marauder. Told him that on this table he can jab his knife into the surface of it if he wants as I made it extra thick. As for throwing drinking glasses into a fireplace, that's on him.

And the wind provides tonight's inspiration.

Looking over there and behind the breeze sneaks up
Turning to look, it stalls and hides
calm

From the other direction it stirs again
blowing ashes from a fire
calm

All around it runs
it turns
calm

Clouds joined in the mischief
calm becoming a bellowing bluster
messing up the hair and making me smile.

First rattlesnake today, and it was not doing so well as it was dead and in the clutches of a hawk. Weather here is definitely not wintery and stuff is growing like crazy! Birds. Deer. Mice. People. Everything kicking into 'overdrive'. Nice.

And, of course, inspirational.
*

All winter the rattles were silent
Coiled in den beneath the cover of rock
Body core temp low to match the slow beat of the heart

Until

Spring.

Sunlight bringing the creature alive
to venture forth and see
to breath
to be...

While above watched a hardy stare
Swooping deep
Picking up
a startled snake
to eat and break-in the rhythm of
Spring!

Of course it had to be. Today, the same hawk in the same place; eating another snake; this time though, the snake was a bull snake. Of course bull snakes eat rattle snakes and hawks consume both.

Very inspiring though a bit hard on the snakes.

Serpent of the circle consuming
its
own
tail

With out fang or claw
in a world level
eyes blind
sound mute
taste though... tasting life

Frogs announce while to the surface comes turtle
spiders in the hair
beetles on the bark
wind blowing sawdust

Settling to announce
a feather to continue
open arms with an eye to the sky
blinking in wonder.

Good Friday

Lent. Good Friday. Palm Sunday. Easter. This time of year is so important for all no matter their beliefs.

Christians who follow Christ, it a time of year to remember the Story. For Athiest's and Agnostics, it is the changing of seasons where Winter is retired and Spring brought forward.

For all, the tree's bud, the birds nest. Life. Beauty. Joy. A newness. A rebirth. Just as Good Friday is the passing of one and the rebirth on Easter.

Poetic. Of course, philosophical debate will continue as people struggle with their choices of believing in what people believe in, yet no matter how different people think they are, they still are the same inside. Listening as the body dictates.

And, a blue moon to really make the season wonderful. It is. It is good. (and inspirational)

Leveraged mood where eyes cast down, look up
Ice replaced by flowers
Snow melted into green growing grass
Cold warmed to bring the symphony of all forms of life

People wave and smile
Women till the garden
Men ready the fishing boat
Children ride the bicycle and giggle

Smell the soil turned
Feel the strength of the fish biting
Hear the children bring joy

This the moment of Easter
and to Christ I say
Thanks.

Whatcha doing parasite?

"I'm scrounging up all your magnets."

Magnets? Why? Or, am I going to regret asking...

"It's okay numbnuts, you can ask all you want."

So, what's with the magnets?

Sigh. "Okay. I'll try and make it simple for you. I'm getting as many magnets as I can steal... I mean, 'borrow', and I'm putting them outside on the knob."

And why?

"Because the Chinese space station is going to crash down here and I want to help attract it here. Then after it crashes, and hopefully kills you, I will sell the pieces of the satellite on eBay and get rich!"

Sounds...interesting...But what happens if you attract it and it falls like you hope, and squishes you?

(silence)

"Shit! Didn't think about that... Hey. I know! I'll put the magnets under your pillow and then go away for a day or two."

Sounds great parasite. Of course if you're not here and it falls on my pillow, I'm gonna beat you to selling it...

Where she'll fall no one knows
But for sure it you're hit by one of the pieces
it sure as hell
will hurt.

Must be the season or reason or moment. Spring does that to people. And the moon outside the window is so damn loud right now it drowns out the television. Something that loud must be inspirational.

Forecast

Wise people guess
Unwise people know

People going straight think right
Undecided lean left

Tired and resisting sleep
Sleeping feeling refreshed

Hungry and never full
Sated and starved

In day the warmth sheds jackets and hat
In night the coolness dictates

Rain and the thoughts are dry
Snow and a sigh
Clear skies, ah yes, clear skies are on the way
with dreams, thoughts, and the smell of fragrance.
