News Flash!

Aphelion Webzine and Cris Lawrence's story "Time and Time Again" have both been nominated for a "Top 10 on the Internet" award presented by the Preditors & Editors website.! The following banner and the "Vote!" button underneath this issue's story links will take you to their site so that you can cast you own vote or nominate your own favorite stories, poems, and webzines. P&E can explain the contest better than I can, but the contest ends at midnite on January 1st, so check them out and vote soon! As of Dec. 22nd, Cris' story is currently #7 in the voting, while Aphelion is holding steady as the #7 webzine. Aphelion also shares the #18 position with Dragon's Lair Webzine. Your vote could be he one that makes us #1 again!

Welcome back for our 11th issue! I've been working with a few new word processors to help widen the variety of filetypes I can accept submissions in. I'm also playing around with some new HTML editors so as to speed the layout of stories.

If you'd like to be on a mailing list for notification of the update or for the upload of new issues of Aphelion then click here to send me an e-mail. Be sure to put the words Aphelion Mailing List in the Subject line of the e-mail. This mailing list will only be used to notify you of new issues and will never be given out to anyone else... 'cause I hate spam as much as you do!

In this issue there are new writers, new chapters in our continued stories, two new features- The Mare Inebrium shared universe project & a Sci-fi Music Review-, an update on our Sci-Fi TV report, our letter column, and a new cartoon.

However, our letter column is down, so don't even try it. I have the Assistant Editor looking into the problem, hopefully he can fix or re install it.

I'd like to thank those of you who have sent e-mails for your feedback. Keep those e-mails coming, folks! Without those messages we will never know what we need to improve upon. Hope you like the improvements so far!

We had 838 Readers visit Aphelion in November! A new record!
Thank you! Please keep coming back for each new issue as it goes online.

Also, there is a banner link to a new website, where back issues of Aphelion will be stored from now on, at the bottom of this page. You can still see everything that has appeared in the Zine so far.

I have an e-mail address for submissions, click here to submit a story or just read the submission guidlines.

Some folks have asked about submitting Poetry: While we do not publish poetry ourselves, there is someone for the poets to turn to-

A Website run by one of our friends from the DALnet IRC Chat network. Visit #the_WritersClub on DALnet and check out the Writer's Club Webpage if you are poetically inclined. Writer's Club also publishes a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction.

Dragon's Lair Webzine is back! Way to go, Roger! I knew you couldn't stay away for very long.

Visit The Dragon's Lair Webzine, our sister publication!
Also; one of our writers, Chad Cottle, has begun his own Webzine called Titan. This banner will take you to visit Chad's "Titan" Webzine.

For your added convenience these links are repeated at the bottom of this page. These banners will be moved to replace the text links that are there now, starting with the Febuary 1998 issue of Aphelion.
If you miss the wavefile that played automatically at the start of our first two issues click here to hear it now.

And now, I'll shut up and let you get to reading. Thanks again for visiting. Enjoy yourselves!
