Editorial
The Senior Editor's usual drivel about whatever...
I thought that this month I'd be writing about getting
older, as I have a birthday coming up soon- but I really don't think
about aging too much any more. Then I thought about really stirring
things up with my usual diatribe on gun rights, but chickened out.
Then I remembered what all of us here have to have in common to keep
coming back- imagination.
Do you ever stop to think about your imagination?
Every invention, every step towards civilization
required someone to imagine a better way of doing something. Creativity
relies on consideration of possibilities as much as bringing the
possible into existence. Pretty powerful, that imagining thing.
We all enjoy tickling our imaginations with stories or
we wouldn't be reading this Zine. Stories are inventions too- every
fairy tale, myth, urban legend... All share the mark of an imagination.
And we've learned how to enjoy the products of other people's
imaginations. I sometimes wonder if that's not the biggest reason we
humans have come so far- the ability to think of something that no one
has ever thought of before and make it real. Of course, I'm not
mentioning all the hard work that goes into making a thought into an
object. That's a different topic. Ideas, imagination, dreams... These
have made us what we are today.
Oh, and the hard work of course.
Thanks for your time.

In case anyone is curious as to exactly what's been keeping me
so busy,
I've planned a few webpages that show the progress of my landscaping,
interior decoration, and housework. Look for it in my personal pages at
Casa Vila.
It’s the beginning of a sort of photographic timeline of my yard work
and
such. I don't know why anyone would want to see it, but Rob thought
that someone might so I worked it up. Expect it to be updated as I get
new film developed and scanned.

Back Issues:
Instead
of the back issues the banner below now takes you to the Archives-where
all our past stories are available for you to read.
I've
decided to ditch the back issues in favour of the Archives. The
Archives
are easier to use and can be indexed by author or story title.
Hopefully this will ease the task of finding a favorited story. We may
start a page of our past cover art, if there is a call for it. Thanks
for your readership for without you, nothing we do has any meaning.
